Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-312(ER) 9V-SWO Adelaide Diversion (1st visit)

Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-312(ER) 9V-SWO diverted to Adelaide when it was en-routing flight from Singapore Changi Int'l airport (SIN) to Melbourne Tullamarine Int'l airport (MEL) as 'SQ217' due to bad weather in Melbourne. The aircraft flew over Adelaide airspace at around 37,000feet headed to Melbourne before the pilots decided to turn back and divert to Adelaide for a fuel stop as the aircraft didn't have enough fuel for the holding patterns in Melbourne due to bad weather.

Singapore Airlines flight 'SQ217' operated by a Boeing 777-300ER arrived in Adelaide Int'l airport (ADL/YPAD) at 1924ACST RWY05 as SQ217 after a flight time of 6 hours and 24 minutes from Singapore Changi Int'l airport (SIN/WSSS) and after a quick refueling at bay 28R, the aircraft departed Adelaide and continued its journey to Melbourne Tullamarine Int'l  airport (MEL/YMML) at 2042ACST RWY05 as 'SQ217'. This marked as 9V-SWO first visit to Adelaide as well as second time Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER had ever visited and diverted to Adelaide after Singapore Airlines's Boeing 777-300ER 9V-SWJ (Star Alliance livery) diverted to Adelaide due to fog in Melbourne due to thick layer of fog back in April 2018.

Seems like we have got almost all of Singapore Airlines's fleet visited Adelaide except the A350-900ULR (UltraLongRage) and the 787-10. Looking forward to see SQ's 787-10 here sometime in the future.

Singapore Airlines is increading seasonal 'SQ277/276' Singapore-Adelaide flight from 3 flights to 4 flights per week from 3JAN20 to 31JAN20. The airline will also upgrade flight 'SQ277/276' from Airbus A330-300 to Airbus A350-900, this could be the end era of Singapore Airlines Airbus A330-300 in Adelaide as the airline has upgraded flight 'SQ279/278' and 'SQ277/276' to the state-of-art Airbus A350-900. Singapore Airlines Airbus A330-300 might be operating last rotation to Adelaide as 'SQ277/276' this December. Singapore Airlines Airbus A330-300 December 'SQ277/276' service
